LAST DAY IN NEPAL
Our last day in Nepal found us in the amazing Dwarikas Hotel in Kathmandu lazing around on a day bed overlooking the pool. Waiters brought us drinks as we read our books and pondered on how lovely the past 6 weeks has been. Later in the day, the boys played pool and had nibbles while Marg and I caught a taxi into Thommel for some last minute retail therapy to boost the Nepalese economy (that money just looks like monopoly money and well it was our last chance wasn't it?) We had a leisurely dinner that night with a nice Aussie bottle of Shiraz and bid our farewells to this amazing country. Dwarikas is a hotel dating back to 13th century with carved wooden windows and each brick has been hand made - the building has been brought up to western standard with incredible structures with modern versus old luxury. Our rooms were luxurious and much nicer than the Hyatt. We sadly have to drag ourselves back to normal life and are now waiting for Puskar to drive us to the airport bound for Bangkok and then Sydney. Once in Sydney we will be staying overnight to see 'Billy Elliott' and then fly directly back to Mackay and back to reality.
