Shanghai

Well we have just spent 2 days in Shanghai and have had a lovely time.
One thing we tried was the express train from the city to the airport that got up to 431km per hour. It was an incredible experience and when another train passed us at 350km per hour it felt like the train had hit something.

We explored the Bund which is a pedestrian area stretching 1.5 kms along the riverfront with grand old buildings with incredible facades, trading houses, clubs, consulates and hotels. We went up 88 floors to the Jinmao Tower that gave us a 360degree view of the city.

They gave us free pearls that were shucked from oysters in front of our eyes. Quite an experience. Marg and I explored the shops and Margie went glitzy with jazzy jeans, belts, a top and a shirt. We shopped into the night and walked endlessly through the night markets. This is a lovely city - wished we had more time to spend exploring it.
